How are the sculptures created?

Each piece is carefully sourced from beaches along Northern California. Once the pieces are selected, they are brought back to our studio. There each piece undergoes a series of steps; They are cleansed in tanks, power washed, and air dried in direct sunlight for a period of days. Once stage one is complete, each piece is partially sanded, base holes created, and patina added where necessary to selected pieces. This brings out the beautifully innate neutral colors you seek to find in driftwood. During the last step they are lightly cleaned once more before a final clear coat gets applied over the entire piece - This process fully seals the wood. Each piece of wood is one of a kind in shape, size, and coloring.

The stands come in a variety of sizes but are all made of steel. The steel is selected from a steel supply shop; where it is then cut down to size, welded together, and grinded for a more even color patina. The metal is then cleaned up and clear coat sealed. You will also find our signature on the sides of all our stands.
